Incoming Grade 7 2010-2011

Summer Reading and Supply List

 

Each Student entering Grade 7 will complete the following reading assignments during the summer:

 

Social Studies:  When My Name Was Keoko by Linda Sue Park and Firegirl by Tony Abbot Firegirl Questions

 

Literature:  Call of the Wild by Jack London

 

Each student will need the following materials:

 

 

ü   Red pens- students are expected to always have a red pen in their work bag.

ü   Blue Pens

ü   Pencils

ü   A small sharpener

ü   A workbox or workbag

ü   Permanent marker

ü   Locker shelf (optional but highly recommended by past students)

ü   Book covers (5 extra large stretchy type) (2 paper covers)

ü   White lined composition paper

ü   An inexpensive paper punch

ü   Paper reinforcements

ü   2- 1 inch flexible binders 1 for SS

ü   Two packages of subject dividers

ü   Colored pencils and or markers

ü   2 boxes of tissues

ü   2 glue sticks to be replenished throughout the year

ü   Highlighter

ü   Scissors

ü   One subject notebooks for computer, religion, and math

ü   Composition notebook for Spanish

 

Science Supplies

 

  • Ø                  One 3 ring binder that may only be used for Science
  • Ø                  Notebook paper
  • Ø                  4 cardboard dividers
  • Ø                  Reinforcements
  • Ø                  Ruler
  • Ø                  Blue and Red pens

 

Students will need a storage device for use with the school laptops.  This may either be blank disks, no more than 2, or a memory stick.  These will be used to store all computer work completed at school for easy transport to and from school.  CD’s are less expensive but need to be kept in good condition to work properly.  If you have any questions you may email me over the summer at noconnor@worcesterdiocesek12.org
